Copics coloring

It is after 7 whole months that I have logged into my blog!

Ashamed? Naah! Missed blogging? Not really! But what I really missed was showcasing my ‘creativity’ to all you friends out here. I love the comments flowing in my comment box. I look forward to when you appreciate my work or even otherwise. I think it just motivates me to get better with time.

So, what has changed in these seven months?

  • Turned 30! YAY!
  • Discovered a pretty decent cook in me. (Watchout this space as I do plan to share some of my own healthy recipes here!)
  • Traveled
  • Bought some Copics!!!!!
  • Made a couple of new friends.

and last but definitely not the least is that I have got into living a healthier lifestyle and kicked out a good 12 kgs out of my body!!!

Yes, I do have a few more to lose to reach my ideal weight but the fact that I’ve lost so much makes me want to jump up with joy! I feel lighter and healthier from within. Life is good!

Unfortunately, what I have not been successful in is getting Nupie (my husband) motivated to join in with me in the weight loss journey. No amount of motivational testimonials, dietitian advises or emotional torture has made him put his foot in the gym. *sigh* Patience is the key..

As far as my arts and craft go, I honestly haven’t been doing much apart from arranging and reorganizing my little craft room.

I had decided that I would craft a WOW comeback project after the time off. But that did not work out either. Anyway, I leave you with a couple of cards I made while experimenting with my copics. I am still very new with Copics so I am open to any sort of criticism or tips and advises.

I have used the Negative space technique here. I really liked how it turned out but I think I still have a lot to learn when it comes to Copic markers.

What do you guys think?

My new blog + some old projects

Hi all!

Welcome to my new blog! I’m so excited to unveil this look of my new blog. After about almost two years with the same look, I decided to give my blog a new name and a facelift to better reflect my style and aesthetic preferences. This has been a long time in making which also explains why I have been quiet lately. I am simply in love with how it turned out. Hopefully, you guys like it too.

In the past few months I had finished quite a new projects and unfortunately due to all the work going on on my blog, I could not share them here. But you better watch-out for this space as I may just bombard you with a lot of picture heavy posts.

For now, I thought I would share with you all these two projects I finished for a couple of swaps I had participated with some beautiful fellow craft-ers here in Dubai.

The first one is an altered shadow box from Ikea.

I have used a lot of Prima flowers on this project. In the background I have used some pink felt fabric. I have also used some white gesso though some brick stencilĀ on the panel.

Here is a close up.

The bird cage as well as the little birdie was cut using my Silhouette Cameo. Later I went ahead and heat embossed it using some gold embossing powder.. I also added some glitter in the embossing powder to get this shimmery look.

I did the same with the black frame die cut. I used some black embossing powder with some glitter on that too.

I love pearls which I am sure you can make out after seeing this project.

Now for the second project I made for another swap. This is an altered matchbox.

Those blooms are yet another Silhouette Cameo cut out. The pattern paper used on the match box are from my favorite paper pad from DCWV called the Lemon Flower Stack.

I scraped the box with sandpaper and colored it with black acrylic paint.

I filled the box with some goodies for my swap partner!

That is all for today.

See you guys in the next post!
