Introducing PPS clear Stamps + Heat Embossing Techniques

Yes! That’s right! Pretty Paper Studio released their very first set of clear stamps, this month, and I was lucky enough to be sent all the four sets to try out!

Here is a closer look at all the four stamp sets. You can buy them at the Pretty Paper Studio website (https://ppsuae.com/craft-shop/) or visit their store.

So, I created three cards using these stamps sets incorporating the heat embossing technique on each card.

  • Plain Heat Embossed Background

Here is a look at the first one.

So for this 4″x5″ card I heat embossed the Islamic Pattern background stamp on a Kraft cardstock With Versamark and American Krafts white embossing powder and then layered it with vellum. I love how clear the image stamped on the cardstock. Its a fun pattern and the possibilities with this stamp-set are endless.

Since the backgrounds colors were subtle I thought of adding a pop of color by adhering some bright embellishments.

I also added some gold to the card. Something about gold just adds such a beautiful, classy feel to your projects.

As for the sentiment, its from Anjali’s Islamic Greetings stamp set by PPS again. This was my favorite sentiment from that stamp set and works perfect too for this holy month of Ramadan.

  • Heat Embossed Background with Watercolors

For this second card I decided to go with brighter colors!

I again stamped the Islamic Pattern Background stamp on a white cardstock with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with American Krafts white embossing powder.

We all know how beautiful watercoloring can be. It’s natural blending is what makes it such a wonderful medium to use. So I applied three bright colors from the Zig watercolor brush pens to the background so that the pattern stood out.

I finished the card with some glitter Washi tape and a bright blue doily frame. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and heat embossed with American Krafts clear embossing powder.

  • Heat Embossed Background with Distress inks

Ing’s Doodle Background stamp by Ingrid has to be my favorite stamp set of the four. I love how intricate her designs are.

So this time again I heat embossed the background stamp in clear embossing powder and then used the Tim Holtz distress inks, Wild Honey, Squeezed Lemonade and Spun Sugar, across the card with a mini round ink applicator tool to color the background.

I wanted the finished card to be 4.75 inches square so I cut down the stamped piece accordingly and cut it into squares.  Then I adhered it to the white card base.

The final step was to add this gold butterfly and an embossed sentiment to finish this card.

Thank you so much for your stopping by and reading this blog post. I hope you liked the cards I made.
Have a wonderful day!

Scrapbooking layout – Masking technique tutorial

Good Morning all!

This is Shruti here and I am here to show you how I made this very easy scrapbook layout using the masking technique.

IMG_8644.jpg
I used my Silhouette Adhesive cardstock for the masking technique here. I cut out my daughter name ‘Krisha’ using my Cameo on the adhesive cardstock. The font I have used here is Impact.

IMG_8620
Before you place the letters on to your cardstock make sure you stick them on back of your hand couple of times so it removes the excessive stickiness and it makes it easy to peel it off from your cardstock later. I have used the American Crafts 12×12 cardstock in Vanilla

IMG_8628.jpg
I sprayed some Tattered Angels glimmer mist on top of it. I used two colors here; Marigold and Blue skies

IMG_8630.jpg
Once the mist dried up I used a gel pen in red to roughly trace around the letters. I did not want the letters to have a very clean look so that it gives it a handwritten effect.

Peel off the letters.

IMG_8634.jpg
Voila! how simple is that?!

I went ahead and added a photo and other embellishments to finish off the layout.

Quick and easy cards

Hello and welcome!

I am absolutely excited to announcing the launch of PPS’s new website! It is an absolute fun and easy place to explore. if you have not checked it out yet then you should!!

So I made some cards using  the supplies PPS sent me this month. I love how my kit this month included a lot of embellishments!

This is the first card I made using them.

I have used my beautiful Martha Stewart Lattice punch here around the card outside the green pattern paper. Whereas for the die cut  used in the inside was cut using my Cameo. The blue glitter Alphas are my favorite from the PPS store and can just not have enough of it!

How cute are those salt and pepper shaker stamps from the Lawn Fawn in Love n Breakfast!! Here is a closer look at them!

The stamps used for this third card is from the same stamp set as well! All the pattern paper that I have used for the cards here are from the same paper pad; Lemon Lush from Studio Calico

I have distressed the edges of the card slightly here. The chevron pattern used on the tag is again cut using my beloved Silhouette Cameo. I added some Blue and Diamond stickles too on some of them to add some interest. The sentiment is heat embossed using some white embossing powder on vellum. The vellum was colored red using a red distress marker.

A closer look at the cute stamped image. I colored them in using my distress markers.

I hope my cards inspire you to enter PPS’s challenge this month!!

I also quickly wanted to share this altered journal I made the other day. Couple of weeks ago, I was given an opportunity to guest post for my dear friend Neelu’s blog and this is what I ended up making. If you are interested in seeing a full post including a tutorial on how to make this then make sure you check it out on her blog.
